16th Sep 2021 One Mahurangi Update - Get ready to hit the ground running ....towards that takeaway coffee you miss!
Thoughts from the One Mahurangi Office…
Kia ora tatou,
I don’t know about anyone else, but I feel a little bit like a yacht becalmed on the sea as we languish here in Alert Level 4, with all of us hoping desperately that next week, we go down an alert level! For some businesses, a move down in alert levels to 3 will mean they can start trading again albeit under quite stringent restrictions. Now is the time for business owners to start planning their re-entry into business operation under Alert Level 3 restrictions. Be ready to hit the ground running.
I know from speaking to people that we are all looking forward to that first coffee or muffin! Please remember that the scanning in rule applies to anyone entering a business and that staff are only following government instructions when they remind you to do so. We are all in this together so please remember to be a team player: scan in, wear a mask, and keep socially distant. We’ll get through this challenging time and even thrive if we all show some care for each other.
I am eager to move forward with planning for different future events such as our AGM, the Kowhai Festival, the Great Debate, and of course the Santa Parade. Some of these events couldn’t go ahead last year so we are keen to make sure we can make them happen this time around.
All of this depends of course on Auckland moving down alert levels until we are in level one again. We will get there! Remember, we have done this before, we can do it again. Let’s stick to the rules, do the requested things, and I will see you all out on the streets again soon! I must be honest, I miss the people contact.
Stay safe.
